Meaning:

1.
On the chariot of time, I am traveling toward heaven,
hurrying onward to see my homeland.

Only a little while remains before my journey is over.
Jesus, thank You! Soon I will see You face to face.

2.
When I wake up in the morning, I know I am blessed,
because the end of my journey is one day closer
than it was yesterday.
3.
At night I sleep safely in the hands of God,
and even while I sleep,
the wheels of my chariot continue moving forward.
4.
This is not the time to pursue the pleasures of the flesh.
My greatest desire is to reach my true homeland
and see the face of God.
5.
There is no need to carry unnecessary burdens on this journey.
A little bread is enough to satisfy my hunger,
and a little water is enough to quench my thirst.

6.
Oh, what a wonderful destination!
And how sweet its reward will be!
I don’t need any property on this earth;
because this is not my permanent home.
7.
I have an eternal dwelling place
prepared for me in heaven,
where there is the fruit of the tree of life
in God’s paradise.
8.
God’s angels are coming to welcome me,
and they give me renewed strength
for the journey whenever I need it.
9.
God has given me a share
in the inheritance of the saints in the light.
For this, I will sing praise and thanksgiving to God forever.
