   Vendum vidham chamackkayaal ningalippol vannu
   Venduvolam bhujikkuvin thruptharaavin ennu
   Vendinaar kshanam labhicha maanujarodannu-
    
3. Ozhikazhivorotharam paranjaaranneram
   Oruthanu nilathilaay manassil vichaaram
   Nija sthreeyil laikkayaal oruthana saaram
   Mudakkunde kaalakalaal aparannu bhaaram-
    
4. Vanniduvin virunninenn ivarariyichu-
   Kondathu marukkumulam arachan kopichu
   Annagaram nashippippaan udan kolli vechu
   Venthu porinjagni thannil avar vilapichu-
    
5. Kaaryamevam bhavikkayaal bhoopathi thirinju
   Daasarodu paranjithu ningalo viranju
   Velikal vazhiyarikenn ivvidam thiranju
6. Saadhujanangaleyaake sambharikkarinju-
    
7. Kittiya janangalaale shaalaye nirachu
   Chattamivarudethonnu nokkuvaanurachu
   Pettennarachan varave thannudal marachu
   Kottililirunna neecha veshanaalarachu-
    
8. Raajano vilichu chonnu shubhra vasthram vitto?
   Raaja virunnil kadakka pathiventhu matto?
   Namme-ivan nindikkayaal iruttinkalitto
   Nalla shiksha kodukkenam theekkadalil chutto-
    
9. Bhruthyarivane varinju ketti vairam thedi
   Pattanathinu purathe mathilinkalkkoodi
   Ottumadi kaanaathulla kooriruttil pedippettu

Meaning:

The parable of the Royal Son’s wedding feast
What a profound and wonderful lesson this parable contains!

1.
Long ago, a king arranged a wedding feast for his son.
He invited the citizens of his kingdom.
When the day of the feast arrived,
The king saw that the guests had not come,
So he immediately sent his servants to call them.

2.
“I have prepared every kind of food and everything you need.
The feast is ready and everything has been arranged.
Come now, eat as much as you wish and be satisfied,”
The servants said to those who had received the invitation.

3.
But they began giving all kinds of excuses.
One said he had bought a field
And needed to go and see it.
Another was occupied with his wife,
While another had bought oxen
And had to attend to them.

4.
When the servants told them again,
“Come to the feast,”
They rejected the invitation.
The king became angry
And sent his army to destroy that city.
They set it on fire,
And the people cried out as they perished in the flames.

5.
After this happened, the king changed his plans.
He said to his servants,
“Go quickly! Search everywhere—
Along the roads and behind the hedges.
Find and gather ordinary people,
Whoever you can find.”

6.
The servants filled the banquet hall
With everyone they had found.
Then the king came in to inspect the guests
And suddenly noticed one man
Who was not wearing the proper wedding clothes.

7.
The king called him and said,
“My friend, how did you enter this wedding feast
Without wearing the proper wedding garment?”
The man had nothing to say.
The king ordered his servants to take him away
And punish him for dishonoring the invitation.

8.
The servants bound the man
And took him outside the city walls.
Without hesitation, they cast him
Into the darkness outside,
Where there was fear and suffering—
A picture of being cast into hell.

The lesson:
God's invitation to His salvation is freely offered to all.
We must not reject it or make excuses.
And those who accept His invitation must also be clothed in the righteousness He provides.
