O Rock that was cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in You.
May the blood and water
That flowed from Your opened side
Wash away my sins,
Bring healing to my soul,
And save me completely.

I am unable to keep Your commandments perfectly.
Even if I have great remorse
And shed countless tears,
Sin cannot be removed by my efforts.
You alone must save me
And cleanse me from sin.

With empty hands,
I trust in nothing but the cross.
I am naked—give me Your robe.
I am unworthy—give me Your grace.
I come to You unclean;
Make me clean, O Savior!

When I breathe my last breath
And my eyes grow dim,
When I enter the unknown world
And come face to face with You,
O Rock that was cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in You.
