Precious Jesus, my Lord, is a wonderful Savior.
He loved me and gave His life for me.
1
He left His heavenly throne,
The Father's embrace, and the service of angels,
And came to this world as a servant for my sake.
He lived among us
To take the curse of sin upon Himself
And bear it on His own head.
2
What a Savior we have—one who cares for us like a mother!
He was hung on the cross like a criminal.
My heart melts, my soul is broken,
And my eyes fill with tears when I think of You, my Savior!
3
What amazing love You have shown
To remember someone as helpless as me
And enter into such a sea of sorrow!
You called me, You chose me,
And made me Your beloved child.
4
What a wonder that where sin increased,
Grace increased even more!
I, who was once the worst of sinners,
Have now been brought into the kingdom
Of the Son of God's love.
5
I wasted my time chasing the illusions and pleasures of this world.
Precious Jesus, help me not to waste my life anymore.
Let me rejoice in the kingdom of heaven
And receive the crown of gold You have prepared for me.
6
O Lord of all, I place myself in Your hands.
Keep me from sin and guard me.
Day and night, protect me from falling,
Even while I sleep and dream.
7
When the Lord comes quickly in the clouds
With the joyful shout of countless angels,
My Savior, have mercy on me,
Draw me close to Your heart,
And finally bring an end to all my sorrow.
