Neither gold nor treasures,
nor the pleasures and amusements of this world,
nor physical beauty
can give me lasting happiness.

This world and all its noise and excitement
will eventually pass away.
Everything beautiful here fades like a flower;
it lasts only for a moment.

But this is the everlasting Kingdom;
no one can stand against it.
Will Christ’s holy Kingdom ever perish?
No—it will remain forever.

Though I am only a stranger and pilgrim here,
wandering through this world,
my Lord will surely bring me
into the glory of heaven
and make me a part of His eternal kingdom.
