Meaning:

1
I will follow Jesus each day,
Taking up my cross.
I will turn away from the love of this world,
Strengthened by the power He has given me.
Under the banner of love, I will remain;
I will praise my loving Lord.

Even when those I love oppose me,
And my heart is deeply troubled,
His precious words bring peace to my soul.
They are enough to comfort me.

I will endure many trials,
Bearing rejection, insults, and criticism.
I will follow my precious Savior
And spend my days faithfully in His service.

One day I will come near
To my beloved Savior.
Clothed in a new body,
I will live joyfully and eagerly
In the beautiful new city He has prepared.
