Meaning:

O Calvary, O Calvary,
O hill filled with memories of love.

The incomparable picture of perfect love—
All of it is seen at the cross. (2)
The depth of His suffering
And the greatness of His sacrifice
Are all seen at Calvary.

Bearing the sins of all humanity,
Jesus our Lord carried the wooden cross. (2)
The Holy One died in the place of mankind,
Offering Himself as a substitute at Calvary.

Jesus our Lord, the One who knows
The sinful heart of humanity,
Filled with transgression. (2)
To remove our iniquities
And wash away our sins,
He offered Himself as a sacrifice at Calvary.

God, in His compassion, knew beforehand
The impurity that would fill human life. (2)
He came as a man to become our ransom
And died as the perfect sacrifice at Calvary.
