Meaning:
O Son of the King, our Lord, come!
1
O Jesus, Lord divine,
Who ascended from the mountain peak
Into the clouds and entered the heavenly realm—
Come again, Lord, just as You went away.
2
O Teacher and Lord,
Who firmly blessed Your tearful disciples with Your hands,
Come again and bless us too.
3
O glorious King,
Come again with Your heavenly army
To restore upon the earth
The unchanging authority of Your divine Word.
4
O faithful Lord, who promised
To remain with us until the end of this age,
Come, Lord, and fulfill Your promise.
5
The night is fading, and the glorious morning is beginning to shine.
We wait with great longing
For Your coming to bring us
Into that blessed dawn.
6
As the cool breeze refreshes and comforts us,
Come and surround us with Your presence.
Take us by Your hand
And warm our hearts with Your light.
7
Like the young sun rising in the eastern sky,
Stretch out Your golden hands
And, in Your grace,
Cause the lotuses of Your servants’ hearts to bloom.
8
Give us the deep blue sky,
The fragrance of flowers,
The cool, refreshing breeze,
And the earth clothed with silk like green grass.
9
O Lord, You who offered Your body as a sacrifice,
Come and triumph,
Restoring once again
The divine blessings that humanity lost
Because of the great sin of our first ancestor.
