God alone is our refuge;
We no longer need to fear people.
1
God has always been our safe refuge
And continues to watch over us.
He existed and reigned even before
The earth and the mountains were created.
2
Like grass that grows fresh in the morning
And blooms with flowers,
People flourish for a little while,
Then wither and fall away, helpless and weak.
3
One day all human glory will end
And return to the dust of the earth.
The Almighty calls out,
“Return, O people, return.”
4
Let us do what is good and live faithfully in this land;
Let us serve God with our lives.
Let us put our trust in Him alone,
For He will fulfill the desires that are according to His will.
5
Today we are journeying through this world
With our eyes fixed on our eternal home.
We will surely arrive soon
At the walls of the New Jerusalem.
