1.
If the glory that will one day be revealed in us
Is far greater than our present suffering,
Then the troubles we face on earth are nothing compared with it.
All of creation is longing and groaning,
Waiting for freedom from its bondage.
We too wait continually for the coming of God’s Son,
Holding on to hope until we reach the other shore.

2.
For those who have been called according to His purpose,
And for those whose hearts are filled with the love of God,
God works all things together for good.
Nothing He allows will ultimately be for our harm.
Nothing in all creation
Can ever separate us from the love of Christ.

3.
Nation is rising against nation,
And people against people,
With cries of war heard day after day.
We see earthquakes happening before our eyes,
And famine and disease increasing throughout the earth.
We can hear the footsteps of our Beloved Lord drawing near.
Prepare yourselves—the Bridegroom is coming!

4.
Since our citizenship is in heaven,
Let us prepare for our journey to heavenly Zion.
This earthly body, which is subject to decay,
Will one day be completely transformed in glory.
When the Lord’s trumpet sounds,
His holy people will be gathered together,
And we will live forever with our Beloved.
