4. Snehamillaaykayaale deepangal polinjithu
   Aakave thelinjanchu-kanyakamaar
   Shobhayaay kathichava-
    
5. Ennayin prabhaavathaalanneram manavara
   Thannullil kadannaho! Kanyakamaar
   Thurnamaay varanodum-
    
6. Budhiheenaraamavar kathippaanenna vaangi
   Yethiya nerathekku-manavara

7. Karthane njangalkkum nee perthum thurakkaname
   Praarthicheevannamayyo-kanyakamaar

Meaning:

The ten virgins waited with understanding and watchfulness
for the coming of the Lord, their Bridegroom.
They waited patiently and wisely,
without giving in to anxiety or carelessness.

1. Five of them were wise
and made careful preparations.
But the other five were foolish
and remained unprepared and careless.

2. While they were sleeping,
at midnight they heard the cry announcing
that the Bridegroom was coming.
All the virgins woke up
and quickly rose to meet Him.

3. They began preparing their lamps
and getting them ready to burn.
But the five foolish virgins,
finding themselves unprepared,
fell behind in confusion.

4. Because they had no oil,
their lamps went out.
But the lamps of the other five
continued to shine brightly
and burn with a steady light.

5. Because of the oil and its light,
the five wise virgins entered the wedding hall
with the Bridegroom
when the appointed time came.

6. The foolish virgins then went away
to buy oil for their lamps.
But by the time they returned,
the door of the wedding hall
had been firmly shut.

7. “Lord, please open the door for us again!”
they pleaded.
But their desperate prayer came too late.
Their lack of preparation had brought them
to this tragic end.

8. Then the Bridegroom answered,
“I do not know you.
You unprepared virgins, go away
to the place of weeping.”

9. The Bridegroom is none other than
Jesus, the King and Lord.
Therefore, be completely ready
and faithfully watch for His coming.
