O Immanuel, Son of Mary,
You are my helper and my refuge in this world!

Until the day I die,
Be my faithful companion.
Your feet alone are still my refuge;
Grant me the joy of resting there.

When I think of this life as a journey through the wilderness,
I have no true joy or comfort
Apart from the radiant presence of Your holy face.

When dark circumstances bring tears to my eyes,
If Your compassionate hands
Gather them with tender care,
They become like precious pearls.

When I sink into a sea of anxiety,
Come near and receive me;
Reach out Your gracious hand
And lift me up.
