Mangalamekane-sadaa mangalamekane paraa
Dambathikalaamivarkku maa-mangalamekane
Meaning:
O God, who blessed Adam and Eve,
our first ancestors,
when You placed them in Eden long ago,
bless this couple now as well.
O Lord, may these two be united
and live together faithfully,
like Christ the Bridegroom
and His true Bride, the Church.
May the bride be like Rachel and Leah,
who helped establish and build
the household of Israel,
and may she be a blessing
to her family and home.
May the groom be like Boaz,
a distinguished man of Ephrathah
and an honored man of Bethlehem—
upright, generous, and worthy
of the calling of a husband.
May they faithfully keep
the good promises they have made
before the face of God,
and may they fulfill those vows
throughout their entire lives.
May their home flourish
with the beauty of a countless generation,
and may they shine with increasing joy,
like a blessed and growing Church.
