Blessed is the person, 
who does not follow the counsel of the wicked
or walk in their sinful ways.

He does not turn aside
and stand in the way of sinners,
nor does he sit among those
who mock and ridicule others.

Instead, he delights in God’s Word
and makes it his desire day after day.
He thinks about it continually
and meditates on it in his heart.

He is like a tree planted beside streams of water,
whose leaves never wither,
and which bears fruit in the proper season.

Everything he does will truly prosper.
But the wicked will be swept away,
like chaff that the wind carries off
and burns in the fire.

The Almighty knows and watches over
the way of the righteous,
but the path of the wicked
will ultimately perish.

Therefore, the wicked will not stand
when judgment comes,
nor will sinners have a place
among the assembly of the righteous.
