“Enthathishayame” enna reethi
Mannavaneshu thaanunnatha baliyaay
Theernnathine ninappaan-mannil
Thannoru niyamam enniha naamanuvarthikkunnaadaravaay
Meaning:
Our King, Jesus, offered Himself
As the perfect sacrifice.
To remember what He did for us,
He gave us a sacred command
That we continue to observe
With reverence and love.
1.
He took the bread, blessed it,
Broke it, and gave it to His apostles, saying,
“This is My body, broken for you.
Take it and eat it.”
2.
The people ate the manna
That came down from heaven,
And they lived for a time.
But whoever receives Me
Will live forever.
3.
Then He took the cup and said,
“This cup is the new covenant
In My blood.
Whenever you drink from it,
Do this in remembrance of Me.”
4.
We have something far greater
Than the food and drink of Canaan,
The land flowing with milk and honey.
We have a spiritual nourishment
That is sweeter and more precious
Than anything this world can offer.
5.
Let us remember with grateful hearts
How His precious body was beaten,
Bruised, and broken,
And how He shed His blood,
Died for us,
And gave us life.
With hearts full of gratitude,
Let us remember His sacrifice
And give thanks.
