Meaning:
1
Joy, joy, overflowing joy—
A peace that no one else can give!
My beloved Lord is right here beside me;
That alone is enough for me
On this journey through the wilderness.
2
There is always joy in His presence,
And there I find complete and perfect happiness.
Just as a deer longs for streams of water,
My soul longs for the presence of my Lord.
3
Once I have tasted and known that the Lord is good,
I have no burden that I need to carry in this world.
I place everything on His shoulders,
For He Himself will carry all my burdens.
4
He has promised never to abandon me
And to remain near me until the very end.
His loving heart is my refuge;
So why should I fear anything in this world?
