Meaning:
1.
O Lord of mankind, exalted and pure Saviour whose words are nectar,
whose divine splendour is revealed through the reddish pair of feet;
which are lovingly worshipped by your devotees;
O Lord of all, who has accomplished every victory
Those who lovingly serve, You will deliver them
from the “forest fire” of worldly existence.
You are the Lord of all and the source of victory and salvation
2.
O embodiment of divine devotion, worshipped by Your people,
giver of the fruits they seek, O Lord and mighty wielder of the weapon!
You who remove every sorrow, who delight in the multitude of virtues,
whose character is holy and good;
You are the protector of all who take refuge in You,
the very source of their strength, revered and worshipped for Your righteous deeds.
Fragrant and beautiful as a flower,
You destroy pride and hypocrisy and shine in divine splendour.
3.
O Holy Spirit, whose sacred coming is welcomed by Your people,
O Divine Lord, giver of life and preserver of those who seek You!
Glorious and beautiful, worthy of the service of all people,
You receive their sacred offerings and fulfil what is holy and good.
You protect those who bow before You
and crush the hosts of their enemies.
O protector of Your people, pure and radiant as crystal,
Your virtues are praised by all who remember You.
4.
O ocean of love, O One who cherishes and protects all who are distressed,
I bow to You, the gracious protector of Your people.
You alone, O Lord of all, know the bondage of worldly existence
and possess the power to destroy that bondage.
O Son of the Supreme Spirit, victory to You!
Dwell within my heart, O Lord of Your people.
May my hymn of praise arise with joyful understanding,
filled with wisdom, as I praise You among Your beloved people.
Note:
The language of this hym is intentionally ornate: many lines are built from Sanskrit compounds rather than ordinary Malayalam sentences,
so a literal English translation can sound quite unnatural. The smooth translations above therefore aim to preserve the devotional meaning,
rather than force every compound into an artificial English equivalent.
