Mahima yezhum parameshaa! paahimaam* yeshu maheshaa!

Changalayaal thiru-maarvvod-enne-yinachathu moolam

Jeevanil nirenj-ezhunnelkkum paavana chinthakalaale-

O glorious and exalted Lord, I praise* you, O mighty Jesus!

O boundless ocean of incomparable love,
how wonderful and worthy of praise is Your holy name!
Christ, You alone are my refuge and my place of rest.

When dark and frightening storm clouds gather,
and the storms of life come against me,
I see the rainbow of covenant, and my burdens are brought to an end.

The radiance of Your face removes my sadness,
and the sweetness of Your life-giving words
drives away my sorrow and discouragement.

You have bound me securely to Your heart
with the chain of Your love,
so that I will not be shaken or moved away from You.

As I come to Your presence in the morning,
holy and pure thoughts rise within me
and fills my life with renewed spiritual strength.
*The dictionary meaning of the Sanskrit word 'pahimaam' is 'save me', but its contextual meaning
is 'praise to God', as used in many Hindu hymns. A similar word is 'hosanna'.
