I will rest each day upon the sacred heart of Emmanuel,
the unchanging Friend.
When the world around me changes,
His sacred heart remains my place of refuge and rest.

He is a Friend who never changes.
He is the One who understands
every kind of suffering and pain we face in this world.

He is my true companion throughout eternity.
There is no one on earth like Christ
who can remain our faithful companion forever.
Even the closest human friends may be separated from us by death,
for all people are mortal.

In this world, where burdens grow heavier day by day,
Jesus the Lord carries my burdens for me.
He is the Beloved One, the Good Shepherd,
and His tender compassion continually surrounds me.

Even if this whole world is shaken
and everything around me becomes uncertain,
even if times of anxiety become frightening,
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
I will continue to sing His praises throughout my life.
