As I sit beneath the shadow of the cross
And meditate upon my Lord,
The troubles and anxieties of my heart
Fade away in a moment.

I will sing of the love of Jesus,
Who gave me eternal life and saved me.
I will never, ever forget His love.

He prepares a place of shelter for me in the wilderness
And shines His light along the dark path.
He gives me grace to stand courageously
Even in the shadow of death.

3.
When severe difficulties come
And I face times of great hardship and need,
He will always care for those who seek His holy presence
And keep them safe.

4.
Turning away from the glory and pleasures of this world,
I will gladly take up my cross each day
And follow my beloved Lord Jesus,
My Savior and my Friend.

5.
He will come from heaven in glory
With the sound of the trumpet of victory.
His people will soon be gathered to Him
And brought into His eternal home
To live forever in His presence.
