I will take up my cross
and follow Jesus, my Savior.
Even when troubles and hardships come,
I will continue to follow Him.
Yes, I will carry my cross and follow Him.

In the valley of sorrow,
and in the deep darkness of suffering,
the Lord will support me with His loving hands
and keep watch over me.
He will lead me faithfully
all the days of my life.

2.
Even when my heart is troubled
and those closest to me turn away,
I will not give in to sorrow.
Jesus is there for me;
I can lean against His loving heart
and find rest.

Along the journey of my life,
especially in times of trouble and danger,
Jesus my Savior is all I need.
He will care for me
and protect me always.

4.
Even if the world rejects me,
and even if my body grows weak and weary,
I want to remain a light for Christ
and shine for Him in this world
until the day of my death.

5.
When I reach the presence of the Lord
on that glorious morning,
all my tears and sorrows will finally be gone.
Then I will live with Christ
throughout all eternity.
