1
I will now take up my cross
And follow Jesus.
As a pilgrim and stranger in this world,
I will journey toward my heavenly home.
I will follow the Lord
Who gave His life for me.
Even if everyone abandons me,
By His grace I will still follow Him.
2
Honor, wealth, worldly knowledge,
Position, comfort—all these things
I now know are not true gain for me,
But ultimately a great loss.
3
Even if wicked people oppose me,
Whatever suffering may come,
No matter how great the losses I face,
I will gladly continue to follow Him.
4
Whenever hardship comes,
I will boast in the cross.
If Jesus is with me,
Every sorrow will be turned into joy.
5
When I remember His divine love
And the eternal salvation He has given me,
I can endure every hardship
And press on faithfully to the very end.
6
Because the Holy Spirit of God
Lives within me,
Why should I fear any trouble?
He will keep me safe
And faithfully watch over me.
