The Christian life is a blessed life,
a joyful life for the children of the Lord.
Even when troubles come,
and even when losses come,
Christ Jesus, our Lord, is our companion.

When the supports of this world disappear,
when everyone in the world abandons us,
and even our own brothers and sisters reject us,
the God of Joseph will be my companion.
He will be with me.

2.
When darkness spreads across the earth,
and kings and rulers become our enemies,
even if we are thrown into a fiery furnace
or into a den of lions,
the God of Daniel will be my companion.
He will be with me.

3.
If such a wonderful Shepherd,
such a faithful Friend,
and the eternal King is my companion,
why should I carry these burdens?
Why should I be anxious?
The children of the Lord
will sing with joy.

4.
The time is near when we will hear
the sound of the trumpet.
Soon we will see our Beloved Lord,
who suffered for us.
O Lord, when will You come?
How long must I wait
and look for You, my Beloved?
