Karunaakaraa! Daivame!
            Varamekane yeekshanam
            Thiru vedavaakkevarum
            Shariyaay grahichiduvaan-

1.  Madhupoleyallethilum rasamerumee bhojanam
   Sudha thanneyaam ponnilum
   Vila koodumaasaadanam-
    
2.  Thiruvaakyamaarullilorthathu
   Nalla pol kaathidunnavaneppozhum divyamaa
   Molipoonda ho! Ninnidum-
    
3. Bahudooramaam yaathrayil pishakaathe yee daasare
   Vazhikaattuvaan nin vachassuthakum padikkekanam-
    
4. Ripusanchayam porinaayilakunnithaa shaanthiyum
   Bhayavum kalarnnullathaam
   Prathivaada mothuvathinnu nee-

Meaning:

Merciful God,
Please grant us Your blessing now,
So that we may rightly understand
The words of Your Holy Word.

1.
Sweeter than honey,
More delightful than anything else,
Your Word is precious food for us.
It is more valuable than gold
And sweeter than the finest treasure.

2.
Bless the one who remembers Your Word
And faithfully keeps it within their heart.
Such a person will continually stand
In Your divine light and blessing.

3.
We are traveling a very long journey.
Give us Your Word to guide us,
So that we, Your servants,
May walk without going astray
And be led safely along the way.

4.
The forces of the enemy
Are rising up for battle against us.
When we must face their arguments and opposition,
Give us Your Word
To speak with both peace and courage.
