My Lord, You will never forsake me.
If You were to leave me,
There would be no one else in this world
For me to turn to, my Lord.
I have no one else in this world, my Lord!

You have given me Your promise:
“I will never leave you.”
I believe and trust in that promise.
Even if heaven and earth were to pass away,
Your heavenly promise
Will never change.

2.
There is no one like You, my God,
Who truly understands all my troubles.
Even those who are closest to me,
Even those who mean well,
May misunderstand me—
That is the nature of human beings.

3.
Why should I depend on human beings
To understand what I need?
O Lord, who are full of everlasting mercy,
It is enough that You know me.
Whatever You give me—
Whether joy or sorrow—
Because it comes from Your loving hand,
It is always enough for me.

4.
When one difficulty after another
Rises before me,
And waves of trouble
Pile up like mountains,
If You simply show me Your mercy,
If You simply speak the word,
All these terrible troubles
Will disappear.

5.
Even the smallest things
Are sometimes beyond my ability to accomplish.
O God, I cannot do anything
Without Your help.
At every moment I need Your support.
I am weak and helpless, Jesus;
All my strength is in You.
