Kaanuka thozhaa! kurishil kaanuka thozhaa!
          Kaalvaryaa-mmaamalayil kaanuka thozhaa!

1. Kaarirumbin aani munnil kaalkarangal chernnu thungum
   Kaarunya kadaakshamevam kaanuka thozha! kurishil
    
2.  Loka paapamaakave than eka jaathan thante tholil
   Aavahichozhippathinnaay naaka naadhan modamaarnnu
    
3. Aashayattorezhakal prathyaashayaal niranju mevaan
   Aashraya viheenanaayi-tteshu naadhan thoongidunnu

Meaning:

Look, my friend! Look at the cross!
Look at the cross on Mount Calvary!

1.
See His hands and feet hanging on the cross,
pierced and fastened with three iron nails.
Look, my friend, at His compassionate gaze
as He hangs there on the cross.

2.
The Lord of heaven willingly bore upon His shoulders
the sins of the whole world,
so that the sins of humanity might be taken away.

3.
So that the hopeless and the lowly
might be filled with hope and live,
Jesus our Lord hangs there,
having become the One who has no earthly refuge.
