O vast ocean of mercy, overflowing with compassion,
Melt my heart and show me Your kindness.
1
O Eternal God, the source of all things,
You came boldly into this world
To crush and completely destroy
The head of my deadly enemy, Satan.
2
My whole body was covered in the filthy mire of sin,
Terribly stained and disfigured by its corruption.
Yet I, so ruined and unworthy,
Was blessed to come into Your presence.
3
You stretched out Your right hand and caressed me;
You kissed me with Your own face.
You gave me a ring and sandals,
And You continue to care for me
Just as You did then and as You do now.
4
I have forgotten those shameful days
When I was reduced to eating the food of pigs.
O gracious King,
Now I sit at Your holy table
And feast on the food of the heaven.
5
In Your heavenly Jerusalem,
Whose beauty surpasses anything known to humanity,
I will dwell for ages and shed tears of joy.
Yet even all my joy and gratitude
Could never repay Your mercy to me.
6
O songbird of the paradise of life,
Has the springtime of eternal life not already begun?
Sitting upon the branch of the Tree of Life,
Sing sweetly each day the message of life.
