When the burden of life's cross becomes too heavy,
He stretches out His holy hands and leads me on.

Jesus my Lord will wipe away my tears;
He reaches out His hands and gently embraces me.

He came into this barren world
To seek sinners and lift them up
And make them holy.

2.
He gave His very life and precious blood
Even for His enemies;
He is the greatest among all humanity,
And He will guard me forever.

3.
Even when enemies surround me
And come against me from every side,
Even when the whole world seems to rise against me—

4.
Even if everyone turns away from me,
He will remain by my side.
The Lord who sets my heart aflame
Will draw near and fill it with His love.

5.
The troubles of this earthly life
Will not last much longer.
He will come with His angels
And take me to be with Him.
