Jehovah has helped me this far,
This far my God has led me.
He lifted me up from a place of nothingness;
Yes, Jehovah has helped me this far.

The day will come when all tears,
Sorrow, and despair will completely disappear.
Then, among the angels, I will sing;
I will rejoice with the redeemed and sing aloud:
“Jehovah has helped me this far!”

When I cried like Hagar,
When I struggled and suffered like Jacob,
He gave me living water in the wilderness.
Yes, Jehovah has helped me this far.

When I wandered alone, despised, and a stranger,
Far from my homeland and my home,
The Lord promised to bring me back
And receive me into my own land.
