The day when Emmanuel’s people rejoice
is drawing very near.
This is the great truth that gives
special joy to our hearts.

1. King Christ our Lord is coming soon
in glorious majesty.
He will grant the highest honor and privilege
to His faithful people
who have endured suffering for His sake.

2. Those who have fallen asleep in Christ
will be raised quickly by divine power.
They will rise in glory,
and together with us they will be transformed
and caught up to meet the Lord.

3. Our earthly bodies will become heavenly bodies.
The radiance of Jesus,
the glorious and divine King,
will shine upon us.
His likeness and glory will be reflected in us,
and we will shine forever.

4. He will wipe away the tears from our eyes
with His own hands.
All sorrow will come to an end,
and we will enjoy everlasting blessedness
in the presence of Jesus,
without fear or doubt.

5. Those who remain faithful in their honorable service
until the very end,
enduring without giving up,
will receive their reward
and rejoice greatly when they see it.
