“What a friend we have”
- Ethra nalla mithram yeshu khedabhaaram vahippaan!
Ethra swaanthryam namukku sarvvam bodhippikkuvaan!
Nashtamaakki samaadhaanam, bhaaram chumennethra naam
Yeshuvodu parayaayka-moolamathre sarvvavum
- Shodhanakal numukkundo klesham-ethilenkilum
Leshavum niraasha vendaa yeshuvodu parayaam
Kashtatheyil panku kollum shreshta mithram yeshuvaam
Namme muttumariyunna-thanneyariyikka naam
- Bhaaram moolam njerungunno? ksheenam vardhikkunnuvo
Yeshu allayo sanketham-thanmel sarvvam vechidaam
Snehithanmaar hasikkunno? yeshuvodu paraka
Thante ullam-kaiyyil namme paalichaashwasippikkum
Meaning:
1.
What a wonderful Friend Jesus is
To carry all our sorrow and burdens!
What freedom we have
To tell Him everything!
How often we lose our peace
And carry burdens on our own,
Simply because we fail
To tell everything to Jesus.
2.
Do we face trials?
Are we troubled by anything?
We need not be discouraged at all;
We can tell it all to Jesus.
Jesus is the faithful Friend
Who shares our suffering with us.
He knows us completely,
So let us tell Him everything.
3.
Are we crushed beneath our burdens?
Are we growing weary and exhausted?
Isn't Jesus our refuge?
Let us place everything in His hands.
Are our friends laughing at us
Or turning against us?
Tell it all to Jesus.
He will hold us in His loving arms,
Care for us, and comfort us.
