Enthu cheyyaam paapi! enthu cheyyaam-paapi!
Andhakaarakaalam varunnenthu cheyyum?
Chinthayattirippathettam santhaapa hethukamaam
Meaning:
What can you do, O sinner? What can you do, O sinner?
What will you do when the time of darkness comes?
Living without concern is truly a cause for sorrow.
1
What good will your family ties or reputation be then?
They will be of no use when you stand before the consuming fire,
like cotton that burns away before a blazing flame.
2
God, in His mercy, is calling you today,
though you are ruined and lost in sin.
He lovingly calls you, hoping to lift you
from your sinful condition.
3
By God's grace, you have this precious opportunity today.
But if you reject His grace,
judgment and condemnation will surely come.
4
When you consider your human strength,
your body is as fragile as grass.
Yet you keep embracing the things of this world,
which will ultimately lead to destruction.
5
You may spend your life studying worldly knowledge
and gathering possessions and pleasures.
But when the Lord comes,
what will all these things mean to you?
6
If you concern yourself only with the world's standards
and forget God's judgment,
what will you do when that great day comes
and the whole world trembles before Him?
7
Those who reject God's approval
while seeking the favor of people
will face the fire of judgment
when that day comes.
8
Can't you see that everything in this world keeps changing?
Do you think your strength and prosperity
will last forever?
Think about it carefully.
9
This is the time of God's favor—
the opportunity to be saved.
Before trouble and judgment come,
come and take your place with the Lord.
