My God, seated upon His heavenly throne,
Looks upon me with compassion and remembers me.
1.
My father and mother, my home and possessions,
My wealth and every comfort—all are found in my Lord.
From the days of my childhood until now,
The God who has fed me and cared for me is enough.
2.
Even when no one comes to help me,
And everyone in this world passes me by,
Whether they notice me or not,
I rejoice because I know
That I have a Helper in heaven.
3.
He is a loving Father to those who have no father,
More tender than a mother to those who have lost one,
A Husband to the widow,
Bread to the poor—
My Lord is everything to everyone.
4.
He provides food for the crying ravens
And beauty for the flowers of the field.
The animals of the forest and the fish in the rivers
All look to the Lord of creation
For what they need.
5.
He created countless worlds and stars
And provides everything they need.
He is the source of joy for all creation,
Yet He is a fearful Judge to the wicked.
6.
The day will come when the One who called me
To His wedding feast will wipe away all my sorrow.
My Beloved is coming soon,
And I will live with Him in joy
For ages without end.
7.
I long to leave this world
And see my heavenly homeland,
And I wait eagerly for that day.
Though I am a stranger and a foreigner here,
In my heavenly home, everything belongs to me.
