1.
While my God lives in glory,
Full of tender mercy and compassion,
Why should I, a humble soul on this earth,
Struggle and suffer?
My heart tells me there is no need for fear or worry.
2.
Even when difficult mountains rise before me,
My Savior will make my feet swift
To climb over them.
He will guide me along my path,
And I will run like a deer.
3.
Why should I think, “I have no one,”
Or, “I have been left completely alone”?
O God, do not let sorrow and anxiety
Take control of my heart
And make me spiritually blind.
4.
My eternal companions
Are the hosts of God's angels.
They serve before God,
And they come to watch over me
And minister to me.
5.
Even if I run away in sorrow
And find myself lying in the wilderness,
God's angels will remember me and come to me;
They will come bringing
The warmth of His love and His provision.
6.
I have not the slightest worry
About tomorrow.
God provides for me each day;
Day after day,
I rest safely in His hands.
7.
Consider the ravens:
They neither sow nor reap,
Yet God provides what they need.
He also gives beauty
To the lilies and flowers of the field.
8.
Even if I were alone
On the island of Patmos,
I would not be afraid.
Heaven would open,
And my Beloved would come to me.
Overwhelmed with that glorious vision,
I would be completely overcome with wonder.
9.
O great Lord! O merciful God!
My precious Father,
When You graciously provide
Everything I need,
Why should my soul
Be troubled in vain?
