My God knows everything about my future;
with perfect peace, I will sing this truth
throughout each day.

I can see only one step ahead of me.
That is enough for me;
everything beyond that,
I leave in God’s hands and according to His will.

As the darkness of this world fades away,
heaven’s light will shine upon me.
I will hear His gentle voice saying,
“Follow Me.”

What a blessing it is
that I do not know what the next step will bring!
He will not leave me to walk alone;
He will hold my hand
and lead me safely.

When my weary heart is troubled,
He looks upon me with compassion.
I will rest peacefully
in the Son of the Most High God.

If I walked only by what I could see,
what would I have to boast about?
My Savior gives me grace
to walk by faith instead.

There is a blessing in walking alone in the light,
but I would rather walk with my Lord
through the darkness,
together with my great King.

Day after day, I will endure
the difficulties that come my way,
until I finally reach
God’s glorious city of Zion
and receive the victor’s reward.
