Meaning:
1.
When will You come to end all my sorrow,
My Lord, who gave Your life for me?
My beloved, I do not belong in this wilderness of a world;
This earthly life is not my true home. (2)
2.
My beloved is the One who left heaven
And came to this earth seeking me.
To lift me from this world
And bring me to a higher place,
My Lord humbled Himself and was rejected for my sake.
3.
Though my beloved is on the other shore,
He always remembers me and cares for me.
When He comes here and we are together,
All my sorrow will finally come to an end.
4.
As a stranger and pilgrim on this earth,
I live under the banner of my beloved's love.
When the time comes for me to leave this earthly life,
I will rest in the arms of my beloved.
