Can I ever finish counting
all the blessings my God has given me?
Could I ever count them all,
all the grace He has poured into my life?
1.
There was a time when I considered the things of this world
and its pleasures to be my gain.
But now I count them as loss,
because I have Christ, O my soul.
2.
More precious than earthly possessions,
worldly achievements, goodness, or human praise
is the privilege of sharing in Christ’s reproach.
How much greater it is, O my soul!
3.
When I think of the glory that will one day be revealed in me,
the troubles and sorrows I face in this world today
become utterly insignificant, O my soul.
4.
Though I face many difficult trials
and painful tests in this earthly life,
God’s grace gives me the strength to endure—
how beautiful is His grace, O my soul!
