When will I see You, Emmanuel?
When will I finally see You?

1. Though You are the Son of the Most High God,
You were born on earth,
grew up among us,
and walked this world as one of us.

2. You became poor and humbled Yourself,
so that You could make me truly rich
with the riches of salvation and grace.

3. Because You hold the office of King and High Priest,
wise men came from afar
and brought You their gifts.

4. O Lord,
You spoke the teachings on the mountain
so that every virtue and goodness
might shine within me.

5. O Lord and Master,
even Judas betrayed You,
yet You still called him
one of Your close companions.

6. You promised Your disciples,
even though they would be left helpless for a time,
that You would never abandon them.

7. You told us that You would go into heaven,
prepare a home for us there,
and then come again
to take us to be with You.
