There is no one on earth for me to turn to

Except You, my beloved Lord.

When my heart is burning with sorrow and pain,
will it ever find comfort—will it ever find peace—
except when I rest upon Your loving heart?

This world offers little support
to Your humble children, Lord.
But You, the Great and Mighty One, are always on my side.
You are my strength and my glory.

Even those whom I consider dear friends and loved ones
may one day become distant and show no affection.
But, my Beloved, Your love for me never grows less;
Your faithful love remains constant throughout my life.

I lift my eyes toward the mountains and ask,
“Where will my help come from?”
My help comes from You,
the One who made both the earth and the heavens.

The bride—the blessed Church—
comes through the wilderness, leaning upon her Beloved.
She is truly blessed,
for even the hardships of her wilderness journey
cannot overwhelm or discourage her.
