Meaning:

1

Who are these countless people?
Who are these mighty and victorious ones?
Who are they dressed in white robes?
Who are they holding palm branches?

Are they the great multitude—
the redeemed who endured suffering,
who washed their robes clean
in the blood of the Lamb?

2

Who are these people, and where have they come from?
Why do they seem like travelers
who have journeyed from far away?

Who are those who have drawn near
to the throne of God?
Who are these children of God?

3

Who are these singers of salvation,
proclaiming, “Salvation belongs to our God”?

Who are these great heralds,
shouting with mighty voices,
making such a glorious proclamation?

4

Who are those beside the fountain of the water of life?
Who are those beside the Tree of Life?

Who are those enjoying the finest feast?
It seems that suffering and sorrow
will never trouble them again!
