Meaning:

1
I have joined the army of Christ
To become a soldier for Him.
I heard His divine call
And came through the power of God's Spirit.

I will fight the good fight
In the name of my Christ,
To receive an unfading crown
In His eternal kingdom.
2
I am not ashamed to carry His cross.
I will always remember
How He suffered for my sake.
3
Even if the devil joins with the world
To deceive and lead me astray,
I will declare,
“I want none of your worthless things or empty treasures.”
4
Wasn't a crown of thorns
The mark of my Lord?
Would His soldier
Really desire the glamour and pride of this world?
5
I have seen a great army—
Heroes of faith who stood firm.
I too will surely follow
These courageous warriors of God.
6
Through the precious blood of the Lamb,
I too can overcome.
With the full armor He has provided,
I will finish the battle
And complete the journey.
7
Even if I suffer a terrible wound,
I will not be destroyed.
My Lord will never abandon me
Into the hands of His enemies.
8
If my Lord commands me
Even to give my life,
I will gladly be ready,
Strengthened by the power of His cross.
9
O Captain of my faith,
Guard me, Your soldier,
And keep me faithful
All the way to the very end.
