1.
My soul, why are you sorrowful and discouraged?
Wait for the Lord and hold on until the day of redemption.
Wait for the Lord, wait for the Lord;
wait for the Lord always.
2.
When it seems that all your loving labor has been in vain,
remember His promise. You too will see the day of harvest
and receive the fruit of your labor.
3.
If you run apart from the Lord, your whole race becomes wearisome.
But if you walk together with Him,
every burden and every labor becomes sweet.
4.
Do you think He is not hearing the prayers you offer through your tears?
Have you forgotten that this is a testing of your faith?
5.
Are you growing weary and feeling crushed
under the weakness of this frail body?
When your King comes, this earthly vessel
will shine with glorious splendor.
6.
When many whom you love are resting in the Lord,
take comfort in knowing that they will all rise again.
7.
Are your trials increasing and making you weary in your devotion?
There is a divine way by which your strength
can be renewed and restored.
8.
Even strong warriors may stumble and fall,
and even the young may grow weary and cry out.
But those who wait for the Lord
will receive everlasting strength.
