O Lord, as the day comes to an end,
I joyfully seek Your presence.
O eternal God, I praise Your name
with a new song for all the days You have given me.

The birds have returned to their nests,
and the sun has disappeared into the western sea.
The activities of the day are finished,
and I too have come to rest
at the feet of my faithful Protector.

You will never reject those who come into Your presence.
Those who seek Your face will never be put to shame.
Those who keep Your Word have nothing to fear.
You alone, O Lord, are their refuge forever.

4.
When many kinds of spiritual battles are raging,
Your hand sustains me throughout the day.
Now I sing with peace and joy in my heart:
While hostility and evil increase in this world,
Your feet, O Lord, are my refuge.
