I lived as a hopeless sinner
and walked on the path that leads to destruction.
Then Jesus came looking for me, gave me life, and saved me,
comforting me with His everlasting love.

Today I am safe in His blessed hands;
His mighty hands will protect me forever.
The day is drawing near when He will come
to take me to heaven.
On that day I will see His beautiful face.

Tears, suffering, despair,
and the sorrow of separation in this world—
on the day when fathers, mothers, and children
are reunited again,
all these sorrows will completely disappear
and be replaced with perfect joy.
