Meaning:

Jesus, draw me ever closer to You,
For You alone can give my soul true rest.

At the cross, at the cross,
May I boast always,
Until I leave this earthly life
And enter into perfect rest.

Weary from carrying the burden of sin,
I walked on in exhaustion;
But through the power of Your cross,
I have found peace and rest.

And remain close to Your presence.
