Avan hallaluyya paadiduvin
let nothing cause your heart to be troubled.
Praise the Lord continually.
How good it is to praise Him continually!
He is a gracious and beautiful Lord.
He gathers those who are scattered and broken,
like a loving friend gathering those who have lost their way.
He draws near to those who are brokenhearted
and embraces them, bringing them into fellowship.
He knows and counts the countless stars
that shine in the darkness,
and calls each one by name.
He is mighty and exceedingly wise.
Because He is righteous and good,
He lifts up the humble and afflicted,
but brings the wicked down to the ground.
Therefore, praise Him with joyful music.
He covers the heavens with clouds
and lovingly prepares rain for the earth.
He makes grass grow upon the mountains
and provides food for the animals and birds,
sustaining all creation.
He takes no delight in the strength of horses
or in the power of human warriors.
He delights in those who fear Him
and place their hope and trust in His mercy.
O Jerusalem, the holy city of Zion,
praise and worship your King!
He strengthens your gates
and blesses the children within you.
He establishes peace within your borders
and satisfies you with abundant provision.
He sends His word swiftly upon the earth;
snow falls like wool
and frost is scattered like ashes.
When He sends hail and ice upon the earth,
who can withstand the cold?
But at His command, the ice melts
and the waters flow again.
He has revealed His word to Jacob
and given His laws and judgments to Israel.
He has not dealt in this way with every nation;
they have not known His judgments.
Hallelujah—praise the Lord!
