Like a bubble upon the water,
Like a flower that blossoms at dawn,
So brief is your life, O human being.
Your life is fleeting.
Death will come, and you will depart.
This life is fleeting—
Fleeting, fleeting!
1.
Like an unexpected guest
Who arrives without being invited,
Death will come and bring sorrow.
At an hour you do not expect,
Death will come looking for you.
2.
It makes no distinction
Between the educated and the uneducated,
Between the rich and the poor.
Whether in hunger
Or in abundance,
Death comes at its appointed time
To everyone.
3.
This world is made of dust
And will eventually pass away.
Human beings will disappear
Through death.
But when the Messiah comes into your heart,
Your life becomes meaningful
And filled with eternal purpose.
Life is fleeting,
but a life lived with Christ
has lasting meaning.
