Meaning:

As the rays of light
Shine brightly around us,
Let God’s people praise the Lord,
Who Himself is the Light.

As brightness fills the earth
Now that the darkness has faded,
May the Messiah, the Light,
Shine within us in the same way.

When the radiance of His face
Shines clearly upon us,
The works of darkness
Will search for somewhere to hide.

If we learn His words
Anew each day,
There is no doubt that we will remain
On the right path without going astray.

At the beginning of each day,
When a person looks upon
The face of the Lord,
No trouble will overcome that person.

When the heart remains
Clear and filled with peace,
That peace will rule the mind
Until the end of the day.

By His grace we can overcome
Every trial and temptation,
And enter safely within
A fortress that can never be shaken.

O great Lord,
Who shows mercy to the helpless!
Hold my hand
And lead me along Your holy paths.
