Meaning:

Come! Come near to Jesus—
Taste and discover how good He is.
Come! At the foot of the cross,
His grace is poured out abundantly.

1.
Come and receive grace upon grace,
And draw near to your heavenly home.
He will give you the eternal refuge
That His earthly footsteps have secured for you.
He stands before you day and night,
Always ready to be your help.

2.
When trials and testing come,
Do not lose heart—place your trust in Him.
When you are weak,
Take comfort in His promise:
“My grace is sufficient for you.”
Soon your troubles will come to an end,
And everything will work out for good.

3.
When every friend has abandoned you,
Tell it all to Jesus.
He understands the suffering
Of being forsaken and alone.
With His loving hands,
He will guide you safely
Until He brings you home.

4.
One day, very soon,
We will leave this temporary world behind.
On the other shore,
We will look back and consider
What we gained from this life.
Then we will understand the true worth
Of those whom the world rejected.

Come near to Jesus—
His grace is waiting at the cross.
