   Paramaananda karamaam mozhi parichodu grahippathinaay
    
3. Ulakamathin pala chinthakal balamaayi vannen manassinnalambal
   cheyyaathirikka anadiyane kaathu sookshikkename
    
4. Madhuram thava vachanam enikku then kattayekkaal adhikam
   Sathatham mahaa nidhiyaamithu sadayam tharanam parane
    
5. Ulakamathil vilayeriya pala muthu rathnangalekkaal
   Alankaaramaay vilasidunnu balameriya nin mozhikal
    
6. Maravaayulla mahaa marmmangal manathaarin pathivathinnaay
   Marakkaathe njaan karuthiduvaan tharanam krupaye yadhikam

Meaning:

O Word of God, reveal Your meaning to me; O great Lord, my Teacher,
Grant me at this time Your Word, the sweet heavenly nectar.

1. Open my eyes, O Supreme Lord, in Your mercy,
   So that I may see the wonderful truths
   Hidden within the Holy Scriptures.

2. Grant Your Holy Spirit’s gift quickly to this servant,
   So that I may understand with care
   The words that bring supreme joy.

3. Protect me, Your servant, so that the many thoughts of this world
   Do not come with such force that they disturb
   And distract my mind.

4. Your Word is sweeter to me than a honeycomb.
   O Lord, graciously give it to me continually,
   For it is an everlasting treasure.

5. Your powerful words shine more beautifully
   Than the many precious pearls and jewels
   That are valued in this world.

6. Give me abundant grace to keep in my heart
   The great mysteries that are hidden within Your Word,
   And never allow me to forget them.
